Empirical Likelihood Ratio Based Goodness-of-Fit Test for the Generalized Lambda Distribution

چکیده
In this paper, we propose a goodness-of-fit test based on the empirical likelihood method for the generalized lambda distribution (GLD) family. Such a nonparametric test approximates the optimal Neyman-Pearson likelihood ratio test under the unknown alternative distribution scenario. The p-value of the test is approximated through the simulations due to the dependency of the test statistic on the data. The test is applied to the roller data set and the pollen data set to illustrate the testing procedure for the sufficiency of the GLD fittings. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classifications: 62G05, 62G10, 62G20

An empirical likelihood ratio based goodness-of-fit test for Inverse Gaussian distributions
The Inverse Gaussian (IG) distribution is commonly introduced to model and examine right skewed data having positive support. When applying the IG model, it is critical to develop efficient goodness-of-fit tests. In this article, we propose a new test statistic for examining the IG goodness-of-fit based on approximating parametric likelihood ratios. The parametric likelihood ratio methodology i...

Extended Abstract. Suppose n i.i.d. observations, X1, …, Xn, are available from the unknown distribution F(.), goodness-of-fit tests refer to tests such as H0 : F(x) = F0(x) against H1 : F(x) $neq$ F0(x). Some nonparametric tests such as the Kolmogorov--Smirnov test, the Cramer-Von Mises test, the Anderson-Darling test and the Watson test have been suggested by comparing empirical ...
متن کاملA Jackknife Empirical Likelihood Approach to Goodness of Fit U-statistics Testing with Side Information
Motivated by applications to goodness of fit U-statistics testing, the empirical likelihood approach is generalized to allow for the number of constraints to grow with the sample size and for the constraints to use estimated criteria functions. The latter is needed to handle naturally occurring nuisance parameters. The proposed empirical likelihood based goodness of fit tests are asymptotically...

Motivated by applications to goodness of fit degenerate U-statistics testing, the Jackknife empirical likelihood approach for U-statistics is generalized to degenerate U-statistics. The proposed empirical likelihood based goodness of fit tests are asymptotically distribution free. The asymptotic theory for testing shift of location, spatial depth testing for central symmetry, Cramér-von Mises t...
متن کاملOn the Canonical-Based Goodness-of-fit Tests for Multivariate Skew-Normality
It is well-known that the skew-normal distribution can provide an alternative model to the normal distribution for analyzing asymmetric data. The aim of this paper is to propose two goodness-of-fit tests for assessing whether a sample comes from a multivariate skew-normal (MSN) distribution. We address the problem of multivariate skew-normality goodness-of-fit based on the empirical Laplace tra...
